Which texture fits the way you live?
Use dimensions first and material second. A photograph cannot show the clearance beside your own sofa, so tape the footprint onto the floor and compare the height with the seat.
Five pouffe constructions
Cloud uses boucle upholstery over a firm foam core. Box weave makes a compact 40 cm cube in cotton. Flute has ribbed velvet and an upright 42 cm top. Low jute spreads over 60 × 40 cm at a 28 cm height. Loop knit has a softer enclosed bead filling and needs a little more floor space at 50 cm diameter. None is a storage box or a step.
Three useful rug measurements
Measure length and width, then check the thickness under each opening door. Interval has a 4 mm flatweave profile; Orbit is 8 mm braided jute; Angle has 7 mm low pile, Drift 14 mm tufting and Passage a 5 mm woven profile. Allow room for a separate underlay and avoid blocking a door or creating a raised trip edge.
Natural fibres and deeper pile
Jute is firm and visibly fibrous, so it suits a dry space rather than a damp doorway. Wool-blend tufting is deeper and can shed loose fibres initially. Cotton flatweave is lighter to move, but still needs gentle care and a suitable floor grip. Do not infer outdoor, fire-rated or commercial suitability.
A care routine that starts gently
Vacuum at low suction without an aggressive beater bar. Rotate rugs and check edges. Blot spills with a clean dry cloth; do not rub, saturate or steam a product without specific approval. Consult a specialist for persistent stains. Keep pouffes away from heat and do not remove their covers.
